MAIN STAGE:

FIRST ROUND LINE-UP REVEALED

Heads up! Big up the Main Stage artists to perform at MOCT's 5th anniversary.

The Main Stage—AYRARAT is all about techno, hosting BEN KLOCK (DE) — a Berghain resident, the forefront of Berlin's modern Techno movement and one of the most in-demand DJ-producers of our times.

HAYFILM, unveiled as a post-Soviet modern architectural marvel, resonated closely with MOCT's historical background and inspirational ideals. Taking proactive measures, MOCT embarked on extensive constructional and technical renovations to rebuild the conceptual history of this historical site, infusing it with renewed purpose. The project not only aimed to showcase the history of Armenia's post-art film incubator but also sought to revitalize it by merging music and contemporary art. Drawing inspiration from its own roots, MOCT embraced the concept of projection within former cinema buildings, reflecting its core values and vision. With the new developments from 2023, HAYFILM studios now feature four permanent stages tailored to different aspects of events. Upholding MOCT's ethos, the studios have been expanded, utilizing additional space. The layout includes the MAIN STAGE and STUDIOS "BLUE AND BROWN" on the first floor, while the former Projector Room of HAYFILM studios is located on the second floor. Additionally, a fifth stage, known as [BAK], is situated in the open area at the back of the studio's building. Each stage contributes to an immersive experience, staying true to MOCT's vision.

[ MOCT x ABC ]

MOCT returned after a break for an electrifying collaboration with ABC on January 5 at Hayfilm. The event showcased UK artists Aloka and Fixate. Aloka, renowned in the contemporary electro scene, presented a fusion of experimental beats that had carved his name as a fascinating artist and a founder of Typeless Records. Fixate, a flagship artist for Exit Records, showcased a diverse palette spanning drum & bass, jungle, dubstep, and grime.

They shared the stage with ABC community founders Esthetic, Merouj, Dave N.A., as well as Shhau, Katishko, and RAT, setting the night for an unforgettable bass music journey. ABC, driven by the vision of Yerevan's talented producers, introduced breakbeat, jungle, and drum & bass to the city's musical sphere, inviting enthusiasts to immerse themselves in pulsating rhythms and eclectic beats.

The event promised to redefine Yerevan's sonic landscape, offering a diverse tapestry of sounds and dynamic performances attendees didn't want to miss!

[ MOCT w/ RØDHÅD ]

MOCT hosted an exclusive 2-day gig on June 3-4 at Hayfilm. Backed by over 20 local and international artists, the Berlin-based headliner Rødhåd found the perfect balance of timeless techno to lift the dancefloor higher and higher with his deep, powerful, and melancholic style - from dub to techno and back to house. Attendees were ready to dance their hearts out during a festival Hayfilm had never seen before!
