MOCT delivered an electrifying lineup on March 18 2023, featuring some of the finest talents in techno and electronic music.
Headlining the event was Marcel Dettmann, the renowned figure hailing from Berlin, Germany, known for his influential contributions to contemporary techno. As the founder of MDR imprint and associated with legendary venues like Berghain and Ostgut Ton, Dettmann delivered an unforgettable experience on the dance floor.
Adding to the excitement was Abelle, a prominent name in Moscow's electronic scene, celebrated for her dark and immersive sets. With roots in Arma17, she brought years of exploration into the deeper realms of techno and related genres.
Keeping the energy high was MOCT resident Karina Saakyan, a seasoned DJ and promoter with two decades of experience shaping Israel's nightlife. Her eclectic selections and rare finds set the mood just right for a memorable night of dancing.
In the intimate confines of the small room, Ranishe Niyaak took the audience on a journey through underground sounds, drawing from a diverse range of electronic influences.
And last but not least, MEROUJ, a local DJ/Producer and MOCT resident, showcased his unique blend of genres, reflecting his deep musical roots and collaborations with world-class artists through Medium Raw Records since 2018.
Attendees didn't miss out on this exceptional gathering of talent at MOCT. They marked their calendars and immersed themselves in an unforgettable night of music and vibes.
The main stage headliner, Ricardo Villalobos, pioneer of the world electronic scene, DJ, and producer, an artist with a unique charisma, performed here for the first time. Residents from Moscow and the local community were announced on two dance floors.
The event was hosted in the modernist building with outstanding architecture of Soviet modernism, the former cinema "Russia," the second level of which was actively developing as a platform for electronic music and art.
The visual concept of the event was taken over by SILA SVETA, an international multimedia production studio responsible for numerous cutting-edge projects all across the globe. The light engineering was powered by worldwide SILA SVETA.
During its period, MOCT hosted three events with BASSIANI. In 2018, MOCT presented the Bassiani Label Night in Yerevan. Then, on the 30th of October, MOCT hosted the Tbilisi Techno Mecca and one of the most discussed clubs in the world's electronic music industry, BASSIANI.
BASSIANI, the biggest techno club in Tbilisi, was showcased at MOCT. It is a maze of poured concrete in the basement of Dinamo Arena, Georgia’s National Football Stadium. BASSIANI occupies the leading position among the world's biggest and most famous clubs and is the most mentioned and discussed club globally, according to the world's press and well-known digital journals.
During the showcase night, MOCT presented BASSIANI resident DJs – including NDRX, NEWA, KANCHELI, ZITTO, DITO, and KVANCHI – who had broken into the European scene and played in clubs and festivals such as Berghain, Panorama Bar, Basement NY, and EXIT Festival.
Additionally, the showcase night featured local heroes and one of the most distinctive Armenian artists, HOV (LIVE) and GFRND.
As one of the most influential figures in the global electronic music scene, Nina Kraviz brought her signature style and magnetic energy to the stage, captivating the audience with her mesmerizing beats and seamless mixing.
MOCT, known for pushing boundaries and bringing top-tier talent to its stage, set the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable night. The venue buzzed with excitement as fans from all over Armenia and beyond gathered to witness Nina Kraviz's debut performance in the country.
From start to finish, the event was a testament to MOCT's commitment to delivering unparalleled experiences and cementing its reputation as a premier destination for electronic music enthusiasts.
As the night unfolded, Nina Kraviz's electrifying set combined with the vibrant atmosphere created an immersive experience that left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. MOCT's partnership with Nina Kraviz set the stage for future groundbreaking events, solidifying its position as a cultural hub for electronic music in Armenia.
JEff Mills performed at Ayrarat in Yerevan on July 23, electrifying the legendary venue with his Detroit Techno beats. The event was a collaboration with MOCT, who have revitalized this iconic space into a hub for multidisciplinary music and cultural experiences.
Ayrarat, originally built in 1974, stands as a testament to modern architecture in Yerevan. Once an abandoned Soviet cinema, it has been transformed into a vibrant venue that hosts unforgettable gigs featuring some of the greatest international electronic music artists.
Attendees had the opportunity to experience Eff Mills' performance in the newly air-conditioned Ayrarat, equipped with a top-notch sound system that enhanced the auditory experience. It was a night filled with pulsating rhythms and memorable moments.
